S-MM-2.3 Model
Multi Modality Prostate Phantom Model

The Multi Modality Prostate Phantom Model SMM-2.3 for Ultrasound, CT or MRI is a multiple usage phantom developed for training medical procedures such as ultrasound guided surgery, needle biopsy and radiation seed implantation. Its ingenious and versatile design makes S-MM-2.3 model an incredible useful tool for training and simulation of different ultrasound rectal probes and surgical elements involved in prostate medical procedures.

Product Details

MRI and Ultrasound Fusion Training

The phantom comes with an MRI image, enabling users to train on the critical skill of image fusion, integrating MRI data with real-time ultrasound images for accurate prostate localisation.

Haptic Feedback

The multi-layer construct of the prostate phantom generates tactile feedback when pierced by a needle, simulating the sensation of real human tissues during biopsy procedures. This haptic feedback is crucial for trainees to develop the tactile skills necessary for precise biopsies.

Ultrasound Echogenicity

All organs and tissues within the phantom are carefully adjusted to replicate the ultrasound echogenicity seen by surgeons during operating theatre procedures. This ensures that trainees experience the same visual feedback as in real clinical settings.

Realistic Biopsy Simulation

It is designed to closely replicate human tissue properties, providing an authentic experience for prostate biopsy-practising. Users can perform procedures on the phantom as they would on a real patient, ensuring thorough preparation for actual clinical scenarios.

Anatomical Accuracy

The prostate phantom mimics the exact 3D shape and size of a 40cc prostate, including: Urethra & Ejaculatory duct

Enhanced Training

Provides a realistic and comprehensive training tool. The phantom significantly enhances the training experience for medical professionals, leading to improved proficiency and confidence in prostate biopsies.

Applications

Multimodality Prostate Phantom (2)_edite

Each tissue or organ is independent and has its own characteristics defined by a real 3D shape, echogenicity level and mechanical properties. Lesions are embedded in the prostate phantom to help simulate biopsy procedures.

Suitable for a variety of training settings, ranging from medical schools to hospital training programs, the phantom is an invaluable tool for any institution aiming to provide high-quality training in prostate biopsy procedures.

The prostate phantom construct mimics the exact 3D shape size of:

  • 40cc Prostate

  • Urethra

  • Seminal vesicle

  • Ejaculatory duct

  • Rectal wall

  • Partial bladder

  • Fat muscle tissues

  • Perineal Tissue

  • Numerous lesions located inside the prostate.
